Children Having Children, Inc. is a community-based nonprofit organization with nearly twenty-five years of service delivery and presence in southeastern San Diego. CHC is committed to a process in which concerned and committed adults work together to equip, engage and encourage youth to determine their own destinies, including the postponement pregnancy until they are prepared to be parents.As a youth development organization with a focus on teen pregnancy prevention, Our programs aim to build character and enhance skills in youth which promote resiliency and resourcefulness in their decision-making regarding life choices, including sexuality and family planning. A key thrust to our work with youth and families involves community service and reciprocity.

Our Mission
To strengthen the values, life skills, and aspirations of urban youth while strengthening support systems and advocating for policy change which promotes personal resiliency and teenage pregnancy prevention.
Our Goals
The organization’s goals include: (1) to create opportunities for youth to explore and develop personal traits and attributes which act as internal protective factors against harmful and risky behavior (2) to create the collective capacity to engage, advocate and transfer skills to our youth to ensure the successful transition to adulthood.
